Menno C van Zelm

Prof Menno van Zelm obtained his PhD from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (2007) and held postdoc positions at the University of California San Diego (USA) and the Erasmus MC (the Netherlands), prior to becoming Lab Head at the Erasmus MC (2010). In 2015, he was recruited to Monash University and the Alfred Hospital where he is currently Deputy Head (research) of Department. Dr. van Zelm has received continuous funding support in the Netherlands and Australia (NHMRC Ideas grant and MRFF grant). In 2010, he received the Heineken Young Scientists Award from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW). Menno van Zelm is chair of the Nomenclature committee of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and founding director of the JMF Centre for Immunodeficiencies in Melbourne. He runs a Translational Immunology programme with a focus on B-cell Biology, and is currently responsible for the careers of eleven people.
